We have been using H.E. Barnes for our Fixed Wire Inspections, PAT Testing program, light tube changes and reactive emergencies on our stores for over 15 years. Alongside this, H.E Barnes refit shops across the country, which include any franchised additional services used by Blakemore Retail within the building. I have always found both engineers on site and office staff to be highly professional and competent. I would have no hesitation in recommending H.E. Barnes as the one stop shop contractor.

H E Barnes have successfully completed a number of projects for me at the University of Sheffield and a food production facility in West Yorkshire, each with demanding and challenging requirements. I would consider them to be competent in project delivery, health and safety awareness and project management.

They were given the task of a multitude of changes to the units to be undertaken in a very short space of time. It was a pleasure to work with H.E. Barnes who were very quick to bring their knowledge to the project and become a fully integrated part of the team. Their intelligent proposals, attention to detail and constructive solution-finding approach was really appreciated. Carrying this through to the works on site, we were able to realise a scheme with exposed servicing and a high level of coordination with structural elements, and achieve a building that we hope has exceeded our client’s aesthetic and functional expectations.

Richard and Darren have performed a minor miracle with our team in achieving the handover of the market. Their client friendly approach and ability to adapt to (constant) change is exactly what was required on the contract to keep things moving, particularly in the absence of a robust design. It should place us all in a good position with regards to phase 2.

I just want to say a huge thank you for the work that your team(s) have done in getting the boiler in on time for us. Your guys have been brilliant and very accommodating; especially the first week or so when we were decommissioning a building and moving the service into Central Library. It was chaotic to say the least in the loading bay area! I have to say that Ryan is a very personable, competent and professional guy who has been great with us and kept us informed along the way and it’s good he can continue to keep in touch should we have any issues. Once again thank you for your efficient and professional service.
