Jon Gray is the new Head of Facilities Management at H E Barnes. He is tasked with building a whole FM offer as part of the H E Barnes suite of services, delivering a full hard and soft service FM provision to our clients. The FM division, will complement our core commercial M&E business and current maintenance and reactive services by extending our offer to the whole life of buildings, from design through to PPM maintenance, cleaning services, post build after care and long term services to our clients, to ensure they get the best from their buildings and sites.
Before joining the team, Jon was a client to HE Barnes in his role at Mitie PFI, where he worked closely with our project managers to ensure all his and his neighbouring contracts were being given an exceptionally high level of service from HE Barnes.
Jon spent almost 10 years in the FM sector managing large scale Private Finance Initiative (PFI) Education sector contracts, where he was a Contract Manager with the national company Mitie PFI. Jon was responsible for managing large multi-million pound PFI contracts in Sheffield and Salford, where service level agreements, preventing and avoiding penalties and effectively managing performance measures was key to the successes of the contracts. Jon developed and managed highly effective working relationships with his client base, and contractors alike, working with all as key components to delivering common objectives within his contracts. As is the H E Barnes way, Jon is clear the only way of delivering high quality services is by having the right people in place, building and maintaining relationships with not only the client base but also the supply chain and having open and solution based dialogue within those relationships.
Prior to working in FM within the private sector, Jon was a procurement and contract manager within a large national government department, responsible for putting together government framework contracts and running high value tendering processes, contract negotiation, writing and subsequently the management of service contracts.
This experience of negotiation, managing relationships from both the client and provider side and delivering specific targeted services, means we are now able to bring together and deliver on the full FM offer. Through this client driven, tailored and packaged service H E Barnes will be able to provide services which meet and we would hope exceed the needs of our ever growing and diverse client base.
In order to achieve this Jon and his team will be putting together specific offers to deliver hard and soft FM services. This includes planned and reactive maintenance, PPM and statutory inspection, BMS design, installation and maintenance and now, a full hard and soft services provision where we can deliver a full FM offer ensuring our clients are able to get the most out of their assets.
